Erin Huber founded and leads an environmental nonprofit called Drink Local, Drink Tap, with its headquarters in Cleveland and a branch in Uganda. She’s staging the second annual 4 Miles 4 Water festival on May 9 at Edgewater Park to help bring clean water to Africa. (VIDEO: Water festival preview)

Here's what Erin says about Cleveland's water:

“Cleveland’s tap water is wonderful. We've won awards for it. I can taste the difference in tap water as I travel, and I like Cleveland’s best. We are so rich in Cleveland. Seventy percent of the world’s water is salt. With the Great Lakes, we have 20 percent of the available fresh water in our backyard.”

“Some companies bottle Cleveland’s water and sell it around the country. Twenty-five percent of bottled water is municipal tap water, and they charge you 2,000 times more for it.

“Every year in the U.S., 10 million barrels of oil are used to make plastic water bottles. That plastic breaks down into tiny little pieces called microplastic. The fish eat it and die.”
