Once known as the Hotel Cleveland, the lobby of today's Renaissance Cleveland Hotel at Public Square glistens with it's white marble fountain. (This image is available for purchase as a faux painting here.)

Visitors to the grand lobby can get a sense of what it was like when the Hotel Cleveland opened in 1918. The 14-story hotel included the Grand Lobby, billiard rooms, the intimate Bronze Room and the private Rose Room. “The hotel earned the ‘grand dame' moniker,” writes Michael DeAloia, in his book, Lost Grand Hotels of Cleveland. “It was a sumptuous place that spoke to its guests and offered the allure of something special and different.”
